Winch monitoring equipment
In addition to winches, Rotrex Winches provides a wide range of winch-related ancillary equipment to help support your winching needs – and provide a complete winching solution.
Data readouts
Rotrex have a range of electronic instruments for monitoring the main physical measures during the stringing or laying of cables, conductors or water/gas pipe. They measure in real time, the pulling force, length of cable and the speed. Furthermore, it is possible to set the maximum pulling force so that it generates an alarm signal when the set value is reached. All the instruments store the data monitored along with some data inputted by the operator (location, cable type, etc) and allow the print out of the information, as well as the facility to send it to a personal computer. These Data Readouts may only be used with properly prearranged Omac winches.
Wire rope spooling gear
It is important that wire rope spools correctly on to the winch drum during operation. Typically the fleet angle should not exceed 1.5° when being spooled onto the winch drum.
Wire rope load monitoring
Wire rope load and distance monitoring is offered as an option via an in-line load monitor that is suitable for both safe area or Zone II hazardous area use.
Remote winch operation
Rotrex hydraulic winches are operated from a stand alone control stand that enables remote winch operation if required. The control stand can be easily positioned almost any distance from the winch when on the same horizontal level or up to 30 metres if positioned vertically above the winch.
Constant tension and rendering facility
Constant Tension Constant tension should not be confused with active heave compensation.
