Rope Spooling With Back Tension
Before applying a load onto a winch rope it is very important to ensure that the rope has been installed with sufficient back tension to prevent the rope from crushing and diving through the lower layers.
Failure to ensure correct working tension within the winch wire rope will almost certainly result in severe damage and premature failure.
Rotrex have the facility to pre-install the winch wire rope under tension equivalent to between 2% and 5% of the wire rope minimum breaking load thus ensuring trouble free winching when under load.
