Hannah Wharton, newest recruit to the Rotrex Winches customer services team writes about a recent training course at Ingersol Rand.
After attending a course run by Ingersoll Rand Marketing Manager, Christian Kolczyk, Hannah Wharton, newest recruit to the Rotrex Winches customer services team wrote: “There were approximately twenty people taking the course all together and they were a mixture of individuals from across the globe including Dubai, Norway, Sweden and many more. It was interesting to meet such a range of people and to discover the different experiences that they all had with lifting and pulling equipment.
The first part of the course was based around the basic knowledge needed to understand safety and applications of different winches and hoists.
The second section of the course focused mainly on the different products that Ingersoll Rand manufactured how they functioned and what applications they were suitable for. Christian took the time to go into great detail about the main features of each piece of equipment such as the environment that they were suited to, what application they were best suited to and even what type of business they were usually associated with. He went through how to quote different products and price them and then we had to apply the knowledge to a short test at the end. The test was challenging but with all the training we’d had we got through it without too much stress. Afterwards we went through the answers as a group marking our own tests, so there wasn’t too much pressure!
We all learnt loads over the two days training and Ingersoll Rand were very accommodating. They plied us with food and drink constantly and because we had to stay in a hotel overnight, they even took us out for a three course evening meal. However, all food aside, this was a very informative and interesting training course, which since taking has improved my selling ability and knowledge of both Ingersoll Rand and other winch/hoist based products.”
