The Thompson Panther open capstan cable hauling winch has been developed using tried and tested techniques, combined with the technology of the future, encompassing the specifications demanded by the Telecommunications industry. This has enabled us to produce what we consider to be a revolutionary winch fulfilling all the needs of this unique market.

The Panther is powered by a 2 cylinder water cooled diesel engine which drives a variable displacement pump giving a variable speed winch.

The winching system is mounted on a fully galvanised chassis base and fitted with overrun brakes, towing and lighting systems in accordance with the current EEC regulations. As standard the system is totally enclosed within a glass reinforced plastic lockable canopy.

To enable horizontal pulls to be obtained with the winch a divertor pulley is mounted to the trailer chassis below the capstan bollard.
