Winch rope-spooling

Using the 250 tonne test bed Rotrex Winches is able to spool rope onto even the largest winch in the hire fleet while smaller capacity winches can have rope spooled on in the workshops. Only new rope is supplied with winches from Rotrex.

We provide rope-spooling on both hired and purchased winches – and the rope can be bought from us, or elsewhere.

The rope is spooled onto the winch under the correct back-tension, if required, by spooling from a purpose designed braked reeler. Usually, rope-spooling takes place on our test bed, once the winch is tested, before being despatched.

This allows us to ship winches with the rope ready-spooled and the winch ready for use.
