We were contacted by Murphy as they were undergoing a complicated project and needed a bespoke engineered solution to lay 32km of cable across the Wirral Peninsular for Prysmian. Usual practice would be to lay cables on the sea bed however for the first time this 600KV cable needed to be laid underground. A sturdy cable roller frame construction was required to direct the cable from the huge cable drum, into the trench. To accommodate this our engineers build a cable roller with a two part frame to carry out the job. The Construction Manager was really pleased with our solution and found it a lot more professional and efficient than the ‘scaffolding pole’ option that had been suggested. This was another opportunity for us to showcase our huge engineering knowledge and skill when it comes to winching.
